Abstract Submission

Abstracts must report an original and substantial advance in magnetism and magnetic materials according to the templates and should be written in clear English. Templates: .tex in Overleaf (preferred) or .docx. Abstract submission is due to August 18 (FINAL extension), and acceptance notifications will be sent by August 30, 2024.

Oral Contributions

Oral talks will be assigned 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions and will be delivered live via the video conferencing platform Zoom. By submitting your abstract you agree that your oral talk, if selected, will be recorded and streamed via an online platform. These records could be used to promote the conference and activities of the IEEE and IEEE Magnetics Society.

Poster Contributions

Presenters are required to upload and submit a two files: the poster (1) and the graphical abstract (2), both as either .JPG or .PNG. Poster submissions will open on August 28 and close on September 25, 2024.

  • A poster/slide (.jpg or .png, maximum size 1920px (width) by 1080px (height), max 3MB file size). If you are doing your poster in PowerPoint, consider the default quality is set at 1280px by 720px  (click here on how to export a high-resolution slide).

  • For best visualization on the screen, we recommend using a widescreen landscape format for your poster. Please do not use the transparent background or fonts smaller than 12-14 pt.

  • A graphical abstract (.jpg or .png, maximum size 400px (width), 100px (height), max 3MB file size, 4:1 landscape format recommended). It should visually summarize the content of your poster and is supposed to advertise your poster during the session. It will be visible to people as they walk by the poster booths before they zoom in to read the whole poster.

  • The graphical abstract should visually summarize the content of your poster and is supposed to advertise your poster during the session. It will be visible to people as they walk by the poster booths before they zoom in to read the whole poster (see an example).

  • Please note that we do not accept PDF or any other format besides jpg and/or png.

  • Optionally, a link to a short supplementary video about your poster (has to be uploaded by the presenter to YouTube or Vimeo, no longer than 3-5 minutes).

Poster session

Poster sessions will be held interactively in gather.town. Presenters must be available for questions at gather.town during the poster session. The link for the conference will be provided by email to all registered attendees. Please check your technical access to gather.town before the conference. If your internet connection is unstable, gather.town also supports voice only or text chat.

In the poster session room at gather.town, every presenter will have their own poster booth. This booth includes your pinned poster and a whiteboard, which allows writing and schemas during your discussions (see an example). Additionally, screen sharing is available  at all times. Posters will be available to view by any attendee at any time during the conference.

During interactive poster sessions, we will have plenty of cross-regional and multi-disciplined networking opportunities as well as a chance to have a virtual beer with your favorite invited speakers!

You may submit a five-page (maximum) paper, whether contributed or invited, for publication in IEEE Magnetics Letters (IML) any time after acceptance for presentation at the conference until December 15, 2024. If you are giving an invited talk, your article should not be a review; rather, it should contain mostly new results, as is appropriate for a letters journal. Paper template is available here.

The regular editors will manage the review process. If your article is accepted, it will be published on-line, in preprint form, immediately after full peer review and your revisions. Several weeks later, it will appear as fully edited and typeset. Each paper will have its own article number and its own dates of submission and publication. IML is known for providing authors with helpful reviews, excellent copy editing of language, careful preparation of reference lists, and short times from submission to publication.

Accepted articles will have a footnote, "The IEEE Around-the-Clock Around-the-Globe Magnetics Conference, 2 October 2024" Except for the footnote, the format of your article will be indistinguishable from that of any other IML article. It will not be part of a conference proceedings. There is no charge for regular publication; open-access publication is available for a charge.

The URL for article submission is https://ieee.atyponrex.com/journal/maglet-ieee.  In the section "Article Type" of the Progress Board of the submission process, please select the subject area closest to that of your article. In the section "Additional Information", under Conference-Related Articles, please select "ACGM - IEEE Around-the-Clock Around-the-Globe Magnetics Conference".

Here is the IML website for published articles is. IML is tracked by all major indexing services, including Web of Science and Scopus.

NEW: At their option, accepted authors may publish their conference videos along with their papers in IML. Here is an example from another IEEE journal . Simply include your video as a supplemental file when you upload your final, accepted manuscript. The IML editor who managed the reviews of your paper will check your video for appropriateness.

NOTE: One of the steps in the IEEE electronic copyright form says, "Indicate whether IEEE has permission to use video and audio recordings of your conference presentation." This does not transfer copyright of your video to IEEE; it simply allows IEEE to post your video.
